Joey and I spent the day with some of our best friends (and newly weds, too!). We stopped by the Elegant Farmer to check out the pumpkins, store goodies, SQUASH (i bought like 10 pounds), and of course their infamous caramel apples.
For the caramel apples: you purchase a ticket and go pick your apple, then they either slice it or leave it whole, cover it with thick homemade caramel sauce, then you head over to the toppings station to coat it with your choice of sprinkles or nuts. I remember going here as a kid and it was SUCH a treat when our parents let us get them. Being an adult and deciding to have caramel apples mid afternoon just because is pretty awesome.
After Elegant Farmer, we stopped by this adorable little winery; Pieper Porch. We were able to sample some wines, then enjoyed a glass outside. I’m not a big fan of drinking, or the taste of alcohol in general, but luckily they had some fruit wines that tasted just like juice. The ‘White Cranberry’ was my favorite.
Then, after the winery, we went to dinner at Fork In The Road and I had the most delicious salad - mixed greens, candied walnuts, grapes and tilapia with a lemon-mayo dressing. I also got a side of roasted veggies to throw on top, too! We then ended the night going to the Jack-O Lantern-Jaunt at a local park where companies, schools and groups displayed their carved pumpkins. It was a really fun experience!
And that was our perfect fall day, spent with our amazing friends.
