Joey and I went in yesterday and I warned him ahead of time that we may not be able to see a whole lot - but I just wanted to try. I wanted to have a few more keepsakes and reminders of when our boy was in my belly. Sure, my 20 week and 32 week scans at the Doctor went just fine and we got some good images - but those appointments are so rushed and specific towards "being in and out" that we didn't really get to just sit and enjoy it - if that makes sense? Obviously any chance we've had to see our son has been a blessing, but we wanted to have an experience where we didn't feel rushed and could just try to get the best images possible.
I got as comfortable as I could on the table, propped up a few pillows by my neck/head and upper back and was ready to start. Amy was totally transparent in the fact that at 35 weeks we may have difficulty based on babies placement, but thankfully i'm still carrying this kid pretty darn high (hello booty in the ribs) and he hasn't dropped... yet.... so I was hopeful we'd get SOMETHING. As soon as she started, he was wiggling a bunch - which was a good thing, because it showed we may have more options/opportunities to get some good photos. When she flipped over to 3D/4D, we noticed that my placenta placement wasn't in a super ideal location for capturing images, and basically covering his face (thanks, anterior placenta!). In a weird way, I still liked being able to see it on video, the body is truly amazing!!! We also noticed he really likes his hands in his face - so between the placenta AND his little hands - she did her best at manipulating/cutting the images to try and just get his face.
Anyways, as the session went on, I moved around a bit - Amy had me flip from side to side and baby sure moved around A LOT. We were able to see some neat video images and get a few good pictures in the mix, too. There were a few moments where we got an (almost) clear view of his face and I totally teared up... he is just so perfect... but I know I'm biased.
We definitely made out with quite the loot, huh? I just thought it was so sweet that they include a little parting gift for their customers!
Hope everyone has a fabulous long weekend.
